Would a Few Million Buy You Enough Storage Space

July 25, 2014

The idea of buying a larger home so you have more room to store things and to live comfortably isn’t an alien one. However, some of the biggest homes in the world have so much storage space the average family would probably end up rattling around in there wondering what to do with it all.

Here’s a taster of what you could do with a few million…

The world’s priciest property – a snip at $1 billion

$1 billion in US dollars translates into around £609 million in good old British pounds. Amazingly enough, the information we found doesn’t even mention the number of bedrooms the property in Mumbai, India has – although it does boast an eye-watering 27 floors

A mere £90 million will buy you a mid-terrace in the UK

Of course, it is in Mayfair. This boasts 21 bedrooms and there is even a separate mews house at the bottom of the garden! Maybe you could use that house for storage and keep the main one free from clutter?

£135 million for a penthouse

If you’d rather have a Hyde Park address, perhaps the penthouse near the Serpentine in Central London would fit the bill. You’d expect a lot for your money and you’d get it too – try iris-recognition to get into the lift alone for example. You might get more than one floor to relax in and call home, depending on how much you want to spend; one person bought a triplex spanning three floors. Of course, if that’s a little too pricey for you, the cheapest flat here – offering just the one-bedroom – is said to be rather more affordable at less than £7 million. Well, that’s all right then

£133 million to live in The Hamptons, New York

We all know the feeling of needing the loo, only to find someone has beaten us to it. Fortunately, that won’t be a problem if you can afford this property. It has no fewer than 39 bathrooms. What a relief! You’ll also get 29 bedrooms and a whole range of storage options too, no doubt. A couple of tennis courts also come as part of the plot, along with gorgeous grounds you could wander in for hours.

Perhaps storage really isn’t an issue for those with enough money to consider these kinds of purchases. Wouldn’t it be great to have a closer look though, just to check?
