Can you sleep in a storage unit?
It is forbidden to stay in a Lok’nStore storage centre outside of our trading hours.

What can you fit in a 10x20 storage unit?
A 200 square foot unit can fit the contents of an average-sized 5 bedroom house. Approximately a one 18 tonne lorry, or 3-4 Luton van loads of furniture and belongings. Typically this unit can hold; three sofas, large dining room table with chairs, five double beds with mattresses, chest of drawers, four wardrobes, a display unit, bedside tables, coffee tables washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, furniture from a study, multiple large TVs and TV units, large garden furniture and boxes.

Who can access my storage unit?
Only you have the key to your storage unit. You may also authorise someone else to access your unit on your behalf.

How secure is my storage unit at Lok’nStore?
All our stores are staffed during trading hours, with full CCTV, fire, and smoke detection systems running 24/7. There is no access to storage for anyone outside of our trading hours.

Is there a minimum rental period?
Our shortest charge period is one week, but you could store for just one day if you wanted or needed to.

What should you not store in a storage unit?
We have a list of forbidden items at Lok’nStore which includes; food or perishable goods, birds, fish, animals, genetic materials, or other living creatures, anything that emits fumes, smells, or odour, combustible or flammable materials, anything unlawful, illegal, or goods illegally obtained, money in the form of cash or equivalent, firearms or ammunition, chemicals or other materials of a potentially dangerous nature.

Do I need to pay a security deposit when renting at Lok’nStore?
No. Lok’nStore doesn’t ask for a deposit providing you sign up to pay for your future storage via Direct Debit.
