Lok’nStore has over 22 self storage centres spread across the south east of England, with 3 brand new secure storage facilities planned for late 2012 – 2013.  From the edge of the midlands in Northampton, to the south coast at Poole, from Swindon in the west, to Lok’nStore Ashford in the east, Lok’nStore has been providing low cost self storage services to householders, businesses and students since 1995. 

Our first store to open was in Horsham at Blatchford Road in March 1995, with a second store following very soon in the May of that year in Staines, Middlesex.  In 1996 Lok’nStore head office was situated at a storage centre in the centre of Kingston-Upon-Thames, and the following year 3 new stores opened in Basingstoke, Reading and Woking.

In 1999 – 2000 Lok’nStore domination of the south coast started with the opening of storage facilities in Fareham, Portsmouth and Southampton.

2001 ended as Lok’nStore busiest property year (to date?) with new centres opening in: Ashford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Sunbury and Swindon. 

2005 / 2006 saw our first purpose built storage centre on the Hawley Lane in Farnborough, which also then became the Lok’nStore Group head office after the sale of Lok’nStore Kingston.  Other purpose built storage facilities followed shortly in Harlow, and Portsmouth at Rudmore Square.

In 2008 Lok’nStore opened another storage facility in central Northampton to become the areas biggest storage provider with 2 Northamptonshire stores.  What next for Lok’nStore?

By late 2012 Lok’nStore will be opening a store in Crawley, and set up for 2013 are 2 new purpose built stores, one in Aldershot, Hampshire, and the other in Maidenhead.  The facility in Maidenhead will be a joint development with Lidl, the successful chain of grocery stores.
